Start with folding a small square.
Make a star-shape like this picture.
Then make a bird-base so that a wing is connected to another.

The bird-base is finished.
After making the bird-base, rotate the paper 180 degree.

Then fold the other small square.
Make a star-shape like this picture.
Then make a bird-base so that a wing is connected to another.

After making the two bird-base, unfold them.

Unfold them like this picture.

Then fold the big square.
Make a star-shape like this picture.
Then make a bird-base so that wings are connected to others.

Fold each of the head/tail to the center.

In order to get easier to fold a small crane, lower the two head/tail.

Spread wings of the uncompleted big crane like this picture.

Then make a small crane.
Move the left square in the direction of the arrow.

Move the left square like this picture.
Then move the right square in the direction of the arrow to put one on top of another.

Put the square on top of the other square like this picture.

Make a bird-base while putting one on top of another so that wings are connected to the big crane.

Also, make a bird-base while moving the paper in the direction of the arrow.
(while putting the paper through the space between wings of the big crane.)

Move the paper like this picture.
Then make a bird-base.

The bird-base is finished.

Fold each of the head/tail to the center.

Raise them like this picture.
The small crane is finished.
Then move the small crane in the direction of the arrow so that the small crane hide between wings of the big crane.

Move the small crane like this picture.
Then raise the two head/tail of the big crane.
(２６)
Raise them like this picture.
All the cranes are finished.
Make each beak so that two cranes face in the same direction.
Finally, spread only wings of the small crane.
Saotome is complete!
