On this site, I’ve posted how to fold “連鶴/Renzuru” which means connected-cranes are made of only one paper without glue and tape.

I will introduce how to fold a basic paper crane on this page.

【size】a 15x15cm paper

If you haven’t made a paper crane or will make it for the first time in a long time, start with larger papers.

Let’s make it!

Start with your paper with white side up.

Fold it in half diagonally.

Fold it like this picture.

Fold the bottom left to the top right.

Fold it like this picture.

Unfold halfway.

After unfold as shown in the photo, open the paper a little.

Open it like this picture.

Put the top point and the bottom point together.

Put them together like this picture.

Flatten down creasing each of the place as shown by blue arrow while holding the bottom point.

After making creases, your paper should look like the photo.

Turn the paper over to the other side.

Put the paper like this picture.

Fold the top left flap to the right to make a crease at the dotted line.

Unfold the top right flap halfway.

open the paper a little and put the top point and the bottom point together.

When creaseing the top left and right edge, the bottom corner is easy to slip out of place.

Sometimes, the inside paper is sticked outside as shown in the photo.

Make sure the corner and edges are lined up.

Flatten down creasing each of the place as shown by blue arrow while holding the bottom point.
