What is Yokogumo?

“横雲/Yokogumo” is one model of 49 kinds of “連鶴/Renzuru”.

Renzuru means connected-cranes which are made of only one paper without glue and tape.

49 kinds of Renzuru was in the book which is “秘伝千羽鶴折形/Hiden-Senbazuru-Orikata”.
The book was published in 1797.

a 26x26cm paper or it is bigger than 26cm.

【Kinds】
・Basic origami paper
・Double sided origami paper
・Washi paper



(1)
After changing the length of your paper to a multiple of 2, draw lines like this picture.

“a” is one fifth of the length.
“b” is one twentieth of the length.
(If you use a rectangle paper, the length is a length of the long side.)

If you use a 26x26cm paper,
“a” is 26÷5=5.2cm
“b” is 26÷20=1.3cm

Then cut the paper on the blue lines.

After cutting the paper, it looks like this picture.
Then turn the paper over.

Make creases on the lines that you have drawn.

Make a crease on the line that you have drawn like this picture.

Make creases on the other lines that you have drawn as well.

After making creases on the six lines, it looks like this picture.

Then turn the paper over.

Fold the paper in half to make a crease at the dotted line.

Fold the paper like this picture.

After spreading the paper, it looks like this picture.

In each square, make inside-blintz-crane-creases which are the green lines and the blue lines in this picture.

Make inside-blintz-crane-creases in each yellow square.

This picture is taken after making inside-blintz-crane-creases in each yellow square.

Please make sure whether there are the creases, which are the green lines and the blue lines in the 2 pictures ago, in each yellow square.
