鶺鴒/Sekirei
“鶺鴒/Sekirei” is one model of 49 kinds of “連鶴/Renzuru”.
Renzuru means connected-cranes which are made of only one paper without glue and tape.
49 kinds of Renzuru was in the book which is “秘伝千羽鶴折形/Hiden-Senbazuru-Orikata”.
The book was published in 1797.

Preparation of an origami paper
【Size】
a 17.5×17.5cm paper or it is bigger than 17.5cm.
【Kinds】
・Washi paper
I made this model with a 17.5×17.5cm basic origami paper.
Since connecting parts tear very easily,
if you use a washi paper, it will get easier to make this model.
Fold the paper in half in each direction.
After making creases, cut the paper on the yellow line.
Cut the paper like this picture.

Make creases
To make creases on a paper before cutting the paper is very important.
If you cut a paper first before making creases, it will get harder to make creases on the paper.
Also, there’s a possibility that the paper is cut halfway when making creases.
This step is making creases on each square.
When making this model,
fold one crane in the way to make an inside-blintz-crane.
fold another crane in the way to make an outside-blintz-crane.
The way to make an inside-blintz-crane and outside-blintz-crane is a little different from the way to make a basic-crane for connected-cranes.
Therefore, make creases while referencing the link down below.
In each square, make inside-blintz-crane-creases or outside-blintz-crane-creases which are the green lines and the blue lines in this picture.
(1)
In the “A” square, make inside-blintz-crane-creases.
In the “B” square, make outside-blintz-crane-creases.
(2)
This picture is taken after making inside-blintz-crane-creases or outside-blintz-crane-creases in each yellow square.
Please make sure whether there are the creases, which are the green lines and the blue lines in the 2 pictures ago, in each yellow square.
Then make some creases on the “B” square in order to get easier to make a crane from the “B” square.
(3)
Put the paper so that the “B” square is in the right.
Then fold four corners of the “B” square to the center point.
(4)
Fold four corners to the center point like this picture.
Then fold the left square in the direction of the arrow.
(5)
Fold the left square like this picture.
Then turn the paper over as it is.
(6)
Turn the paper over like this picture.
(7)
Next steps are making creases at the yellow lines.
(8)
The yellow lines are which you have made creases.
Fold the bottom edges to the circled points to make a crease at the dotted line.
At that time, adjust the center line in the bottom to the center line in the top.
(9)
Fold the bottom edges to the circled points and adjust the center line like this picture.
Then make a crease.
(10)
The blue line is which you have made a crease in the previous step.
(11)
Then put the paper like this picture.
(12)
Make a crease in the same way.
Fold the bottom left edge to the circled point and adjust the center line in the bottom to the center line in the top.
(13)
Fold the bottom left edge to the circled point and adjust the center line like this picture.
Then make a crease.
(14)
The blue lines are which you have made creases.
Make creases at the dotted lines in the same way.
(15)
After making creases, it looks like this picture.
(16)
After spreading the paper, it looks like this picture.
